We will explore the major civilizations of the ancient world and investigate the components that made their civilization thrive. Our first semester will cover the Stone Age, Ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Kush as well as India and Ancient Israel. In the spring, we'll cover Ancient Greece, Rome, and Ancient China as well as discovering the origins of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. This class covers the 6th grade standards for history. The classwork given in this class are not individually graded. We will work through a digital/online notebook that students are responsible to complete and a participation grade will be given in Google Classroom at the end of the semester. Mapping, reading, and other engaging assignments will be given to complete throughout the week at home, however, PARENTS WILL BE ASSIGNING THE GRADE FOR ASSIGNMENTS. Medieval and Middle Ages History Class (7th grade)
In this class, we'll cover medieval times in Europe, Africa, and Asia. In the fall, we'll begin with the expansion and fall of the Roman Empire and move into the geographical, religious, political, economic structures of Medieval Islamic civilizations, Medieval China, and Medieval Japan. In the spring, we will dive into the geographical, religious, political, and economic structures of Medieval Africa, Meso-America and Andean civilizations, and then spend the remaining time in Medieval Europe. We'll dive into the Renaissance, Reformation, Scientific Revolution, and the Age of Reason and Enlightenment. We will see the continued effects of major world religions on society as well as different intellectual movements that swept the middle ages. The homework given in this class are not individually graded. We will work through a digital/online notebook that students are responsible to complete and a participation grade will be given in Google Classroom at the end of the semester.
