This two semester, online class focuses on the 10th grade Social Studies standards for CA. Picking up where 7th grade Medieval History left off, this class explores major moments and contributions around the world from the age of Enlightenment to post World War II and the impact of global interactions in the mid to late 20th century. Our class begins examining Greek and Roman philosophy and the roots of democracy. From there, we focus on revolutions around the world, Industrialization, Imperialism, Nationalism and responses to it. Our second semester focuses in on the 20th century world wars, continued struggles for democracy, and the birth of new nations. We grade all work assigned in class unless a family requests otherwise. *a-g option: This class is approved for a-g credit and follows the college board approved syllabus.
