This one semester, asynchronous class focuses on the 12th grade Social Studies standards for CA. This class focuses on all levels of U.S. government - from its structure, constitution, procedures, and processes with the purpose of increasing the knowledge to create informed citizens. Fall and Spring semesters are the same content.We grade all work assigned in class unless a family requests otherwise. *a-g option: This class is approved for a-g credit and follows the college board approved syllabus. Students who have registered with an indication for a-g credit will complete "Key Assignments" that are required to earn this credit in addition to the class's regular assignments.
Instructor:Sheri Joyce Weekly Class Time:Asynchronous (no live class); Students have flexibility to work at a pace they're comfortable with as long as they're meeting deadlines set on assignments and have all work submitted by a final semester deadline provided in the Google Classroom. Students will have access to me via email and the Google Classroom throughout each week as well as video lessons. Semester Cost: $250* *Private pay is available in two payments of $125; The first payment is due before the start of class and the second payment is due on by the 1st of October (fall semester) or the 1st of February (spring semester) Please see instructions below for how to submit charter school vouchers if you will be using those to pay.

Parent's Role In The Class: Our biggest request is that parents check in on their student's grade and work in Google Classroom weekly so nothing is a surprise later and helps bolster the learning experience as well as the accountability of students.
