12th grade U.S. Government Class*

* a-g option available
REGISTER
This one semester, online class focuses on the 12th grade Social Studies standards for CA.   This class focuses on all levels of U.S. government - from its structure, constitution, procedures, and processes with the purpose of increasing the knowledge to create informed citizens. Fall and Spring semesters are the same content.   We grade all work assigned in class unless a family requests otherwise.
*a-g option: This class is approved for a-g credit and follows the college board approved syllabus. Students who have registered with an indication for a-g credit will complete "Key Assignments" that are required to earn this credit in addition to the class's regular assignments.

Weekly Class Time:  Tuesdays, 12:00 - 1:00 pm
Semester length: 
Fall semester - 14 weeks
Dates: Tuesdays, August 26 - December 9 (14 weeks) (No classes on Oct. 21 & Nov.25)
Semester Cost: $300*
*Private pay is accepted in three installments of $100

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
  • Headphones with mic ability                             
  • Gmail account to access Google Classroom 
  • Internet/Wi-fi connection             
  • Required books - US Government, Principles in Practice, SE, Holt McDougal, 2012, ISBN-13 9780547451381
    This textbook is out of print as of 2019, but copies can still be purchased for a discount at various online stores as well as being available for check out at charter school libraries.

Parent's Role In The Class:
Our biggest ask is that parents check in on their student's grade and work in Google Classroom weekly so nothing is a surprise later and helps bolster the learning experience as well as the accountability of students. ​

Fall 2025 Purchase Order Instructions 

This is a semester long class. For billing purposes, POs should be paid monthly.  
We are not a pay by the month vendor. See below.
